Measuring approximately 26.5 x 19.5 x 8.2 cm, the God of War III Play Arts Kai: Kratos is an elaborate reproduction equipped with the Blades of Exile and the Claws of Hades. Originally Kratos serves in the command of Ares, wielding the destructive Blades of Chaos. When the treacherous Ares facilitates the death of Kratos’ wife and child, Kratos defects from Ares’ service. Ultimately Kratos kills Ares and assumes the mantle of God of War. Kratos is later turned upon and depowered by Zeus, and is commissioned by Gaia to exact brutal vengeance on the Olympians on behalf of Gaia and her fellow Titans. Kratos participates in the Titans’ subsequent assault on Mount Olympus, in the course he is separated from Gaia and deposited in the River Styx and placed in contact with the spectral version of Athena. Battling and vanquishing a handful of deities, Kratos later learns of the continued existence of Pandora’s Box, contained within the Flame of Olympus, prompting him to seek out the box’s key. Learning that Pandora herself is the key capable of extinguishing the flame and battling the Titans to retrieve Pandora from the Labyrinth, Kratos succeeds in reacquiring the box only to ultimately discover that Pandora’s Box, previously used as a weapon against the gods, is now an empty vessel.
